Where do you ship and do you offer free shipping?
We ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated at checkout but we do offer free shipping on order of $175 or more in North America (*excluding certain large items such as rugs, exclusions will be noted in the description of the item)
How does delivery work?
After selecting your items and entering your address, choose delivery at checkout. You'll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours (usually the same day).
Once your order is ready, we’ll email you to confirm your address, any special instructions, and the delivery time. Orders are delivered on business days within 1-3 days.
We deliver within the Stony Trail Ring Road & north of Canyon Meadow Road.
For special requests, leave a note at checkout. If sending a gift, mention it in the comments, and we’ll confirm the time and address discreetly.
How does in store pickup work?
At checkout, select ‘pickup.’ You'll receive a confirmation email, followed by another when your order is ready (usually the same day) with instructions. Visit the store with your order number to pick it up. Pickup is available during store hours, or we can arrange curbside pickup—just give us a call!
Explain the name Steeling Home?
Often confused as Sterling Home or Stealing Home, our name is Steeling Home. We started as an artist-run collective in 1993. When the store first opened the focus was on hand-forged iron and steel work – hence the name. Still run by the original artist, the shop has evolved to include a wide array of treasures and surprises.
Where can I park in the Beltline?
There are paid parking lots in the area, the closest one is next to our neighbour Whiskey Rose Saloon or behind us along 16th avenue. Otherwise 2 hour street parking is available along 17th avenue Monday-Friday from 9am to 3:30pm & Saturdays 9am to 6pm, payment required. Free street parking after 6pm Monday-Saturday & all day Sunday.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! ✨ We have gift cards that can be purchased online that work in person and online. You can also purchase gift cards in store but in store gift cards must be used in-person.
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days to return the item in store for a full refund or exchange (excluding sale items). Check our return policy here for details and information regarding online returns.
Do you have gift receipts?
We can easily do gift receipts in store, which allow exchange within 30 days without listing the price of the original gift. If you are placing an online order but would like a gift receipt please email us.
Are you the only location?
Yes. Steeling Home is the one and only. You can find us on the amazing 17 Ave. A lively community with lots of shops, restaurants, and more. Check out our friends https://17thave.ca/ to find out what to do in the area.✨
How do I tell if something is in store?
We work hard to keep our website and stock lists up to date. Everything you see online should be available in store so long as it hasn’t sold out since you viewed it. But you can always give us a call to double check!
Is everything Canadian made?
We try to spotlight and carry as many local and Canadian artists in our Calgary store as possible. While our emphasis and focus is on Canadian made goods, we do carry a variety of goods from all over the world to help keep things consistently available on our shelves.
Online order special requests?
There is an area to write notes to give us any further information that may be helpful. Before you check out, there is a page that is called 'Your Shopping Cart' where all of your items are listed. On the right side of the page, you will see 'Additional Comments' with a box underneath. There, you will be able to write out any notes to give us more information.
For example: "Please do not include the bill as it is a gift" OR "Could you write in the card 'Happy Birthday Sonya'" OR "Please gift wrap the book but don't worry about the mug".
I didn’t get an email about my order?
If you did not receive a confirmation email from us saying that your order is ready for pickup or confirming your delivery address - please check your spam or junk folder. Otherwise, give us a call.
Can you do gift wrapping in the store?
We do not offer formal gift wrapping, however we are happy to remove price tags and put the items in our red tissue and Steeling Home paper bags, free of charge. We are also happy to include a handwritten note or fill out a card on your behalf if you're shopping from afar.
